Jerry R. French, 70, of Douglas, GA and formerly of Newark Valley, passed away on March 9, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL. Jerry is survived by his children, Daphne (Robert) French, Chad (Lee-Ann) French, Angela (Ronnie) Jenkins, Jerry French, and Rose Darby and family; brothers, Jack (Donna) French, Joe (Regina) French; grandchildren, Trenton, Kyla, Taylor, Wyatt, Leevi, Levistine and Randy; a great-grandson, Ashton; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Robert French and Marian Watkins; brother, Jim French; and sister, Judy Duran. Jerry was born on January 8, 1942 in Endicott, NY and retired as Import Supervisor for Streats Garment Company in Georgia. An avid race fan, Jerry also will be remembered for bringing a smile to those that he met. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing on Thursday, March 15, from noon until 1 p.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley.
