In May 2010, as I photographed and transcribed this section of Pulaski Cemetery, I noted a century plant blooming around a stone and went to investigate. It was apparently the original stone for Revolutionary War veteran, Richard Rose! I marked it with orange flags as I left for the day. I came back the next day and went to show it to another cemetery visitor but I had trouble finding it again. Someone had come and removed the century plant and reset the stone. Here are the before and after photos. I like to think that the Town of Augusta workers did it since they take such marvelous care of Pulaski Cemetery but if you know who did this, please contact me so I can properly express my appreciation!
