Death of Captain Martin

Captain J Parker Martin, who died Friday night at his residence, No. 2105 Park ave was for many years engaged in the Bible and album establishment of W.W. Harding and afterwards with A.J. Holman & Co. For the past three years he has been manager for Altemus & Co. In the fall of 1861 he was commissioned as first lieutenant of Company F, Eighty-eighth Regiment, P.V. and served during the war until his resignation in 1863 having been for some months Captain. He was a member of the Veterans Corps, First Regiment, Loyal Legion, a promiment Free Mason and a member of the I.O.O.F.
