C. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late William Shannon Nelson and Nina Geddes Nelson. She attended Columbia schools and the University of South Carolina. She was a member of the Junior League of Columbia and a past president of The Assembly. She was also a former member of the Columbia Garden Club and the Pine Tree Hunt Club. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Saluda, N.C. and a former member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia. Surviving are her husband, Dwight F. Andrews; son, Dwight F. Andrews Jr. of Columbia; daughters, Mrs. Angus E. Peyson of Charleston, W. Va. and Mrs. J. William Haltiwanger of Columbia and five grandchildren.
