HARRY MARTIN WEARDA, 97, Webster City, died Wed. Nov. 13, 2002, at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral Services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation was at Foster Funeral Home prior to services.

Harry Martin Weada, son of Montje and Anna (Wenger) Wearda, was born May 12, 1905, at McClain County, Illinois. He attended Union School, Freedom Township, in Hamilton County. After his education, he started farming three miles southwest of Webster City. On Sept. 6, 1934, he married Viola Beatrice Elkin at Webster City. The couple continued farming until his retirement in 1993. Mrs. Wearda died Aug. 9. 2000.

Mr. Wearda is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Frances & Merle Heinzeroth of Alden, Marlene & Wayne Jackson of Webster City, Phyllis & Bruce McConnell of Littletown, Colo.; son Robert Wearda of Winter Park, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife, Viola, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lorene Stein, brothers Charles, William, and Edward Wearda and one grandson, Tom Heinzeroth.

Harry was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Men's Club, Dart Ball Team and Board of Trustees within the church. He as a former member of the Community Coop Board of Directors and Union School, School board. Harry was also involved with the Square Dance Club and 500 Club of Webster City.
