Charles Edward Neece passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was 80 years old. Service: 10 a.m. Monday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, Colleyville. Interment will immediately follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville.

Charles was born in Bowie on Oct. 1, 1931. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He met the love of his life, Pauline, and married her in March of 1956. Charles was a longtime resident of Colleyville and he retired from General Dynamics after 30 years of service. Charles was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing and hunting and he had a passion for farming. He especially treasured his cows. He will be remembered forever as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Velma Ivie: and his precious granddaughter, Amy Neece.

Survivors: His loving wife of 56 years, Pauline Neece; children, Donna Roach and husband, Conrad, Linda Haire and husband, Bobby, David Neece and wife, Judy, and Lisa Birdsong and husband, Darin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brothers, Vernie and Roy Neece; lifelong friends, Merle and Joyce Getter; and many other dear family and friends.
