Ramseur - Elmer Stanley Allen, 89, of 5136 Buffalo Ford Road, Ramseur, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Holly Spring Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms and Michael Thames officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a native of Randolph County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Holly Spring Friends Meeting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Brown Allen, whom he had been married to for 65 years. Surviving are son, Melvin Allen & wife, Ann of Asheboro; and grandchildren, Michelle Osborne and Gina Bateman; son, Wayne T. Allen of Ramseur; and grandchildren, Anthony Wayne Allen and Kelly Renee Beal; daughter, Nancy Edinger & husband, Fred of Hartsville, SC; and grandchildren, Paul Edinger and April Edinger; brother, Clifton Leon Allen of Asheboro; sisters, Ola Kenan of Greensboro and Josephine Moore of Ramseur; 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur, other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Holly Spring Memorial Association or to Holly Spring Friends Meeting, c/o Phyllis Allen, 5163 Buffalo Ford Road, Ramseur, NC 27316.
