Sam H. Bush was raised on a farm over around Hazzard in Ralls Co., Mo. He was the youngest child of James Thomas Bush and Elenor Long Higbee. He married Dora Mae Kidwell February 12, 1903 in the bride's parents home 7 miles Southwest of Shelbina, Shelby Co., Mo. Grandpa Bush was a farmer, grocer and served two terms as Shelby Co., Assessor (1915-1923). He was a Mason & member of M.W.A. Camp Temperance movement. He did not like liqour of any kind around him. He died of a stroke. I never did get to meet him.
