Kathleen B. Bartley (Bourne), 60, of Jamestown passed away peacefully at home, June 26, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Lawrence J. Bartley, Jr. for 37 years.

Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late William, Jr. and Margaret "Peg" (King) Bourne.

Kathleen graduated from St. Catherine Academy in Newport.
She worked for DCYF for thirteen years before the birth of her son. She later worked in carpentry and was instrumental in the building of the Jamestown Community Playground. Her final and most satisfying job was at the Secret Garden in Jamestown.

She was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts. Kathleen was most grateful for her involvement in Women's Way from 1987-2012.

Kathleen loved gardening, working with stained glass, dogs and was an avid birdwatcher.
She was a communicant of Christ the King Church, Kingston.

Besides her husband, she leaves her son, Benjamin M. Bartley and his wife Karla of South Kingstown; her brother, Kevin Bourne and his wife Regina of Jamestown; her former sister-in-law, Mary Bourne of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Bourne, III.

She attempted to live a life of gratitude and simplicity; and tried her best to live out her baptismal vows.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 30, 2012 in Christ the King Church, Old North Road, Kingston. Her burial was private. FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, North Kingstown.
