Doris Marie Sims Seago Arabie, 80, of Lake Charles, LA died at 3:02 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2012 in a local hospital.

Our dear sweet mother was born November 22, 1931 in Logansport, LA and was a 1948 graduate of Stanley High School. She has lived in Lake Charles since 1975. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where she loved spending time with her church family. She was also a member of the CFMA (Cajun French Music Association). She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, music, traveling, and camping. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a deep love for the Lord and was a teacher, preacher, and best friend to her family.

Our loving mom is survived by her sons, Michael Seago and wife Haney of Bossier City, LA, Edwin C. Seago, Joe Seago and wife Debbie, and Jessie Seago and wife Jennifer, all of Lake Charles; daughters, Alta Allen of Iowa, LA, Lori Cole Smith and husband Lester of Lake Charles, and Kathy Chaisson and husband Joseph of Thibodaux, LA; siblings, Don Sims and wife Barbara of Mobile, AL, Helen Grounds of Montgomery, TX, Patsy Robinson of Blanchard, LA, Clyde Sims, Jr. and wife Billy June of Grand Cane, LA, Richard Sims and wife Nita of Center, TX, Mabel Bledsole of Grand Cane, LA, and Jimmy Sims and wife Darlene of Mansfield, LA; brothers-in-law, Cecil Marlton Seago and wife Carol of Logansport, LA and Henry Calvin Seago of Shreveport, LA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alton Leon Seago; second husband, Julius Arabie; son, Van Leon Seago; parents, Clyde Willis and Laura Wilson Sims; grandson, Joshua Lee Joseph Seago; son-in-law, George Cole; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Ellender Seago.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles, LA. Reverend Dale Nazworth will officiate. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.

A second funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Burial will follow in O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
