David Charles "Dave" Kinison, 83, of Panama City, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012. He was born in Ward, Arkansas, and lived in Bay County since 1954. Dave spent 26 years in the US Air Force, retiring as a MSGT, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. After his military career, he spent 10 years working at the Port of Panama City, and an additional 10 years as a "Jack of All Trades" at Peaden Heating and Air Conditioning. Dave was a longtime member, elder and deacon at Parkway Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed yard work and reading, and was well known for his annual Christmas decorations at his home on David Avenue. Dave was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sallie Kinison, and two step-sons, Charles and Wilmer Gay.

Survivors include his son, Clarence Gay and his wife Peggy of Lynn Haven; his daughter, Pamela Kinison Darrow of Panama City; sisters, Ida Doolin of Illinois and Shirley Pruitt of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Ricky, Randy and Robin Gay, Tiffany Ricks, Will Gay III,Elizabeth Gay, Michael and Jeffrey Gay, John Brent Gay, and Matthew Spencer Darrow. Also surviving are numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his Yorkie, Rusty.

A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reid Cameron officiating. Interment with military honors offered by the US Air Force will follow from Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00. Following the burial, everyone is invited to a reception at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home for family members and friends to remember Dave. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dave's name may be made to the American Heart Association.
