Alfred Morency was born in Bern,Switzerland. He came to the USA at age 21. His family owned a business in Switzerland and gave up his part ownership to come to America. My grandfather was a chef and worked what I was told at Delmonicos in NYC and varies restaurant in Philadelphia. I was told that he invited the dish "Chicken A la King". Its a long story. He also was a great French Pastry Chef. He was a small man and spoke broken English. He was a kind and sweet little man and I remember him some, as he died when I was six. He married my grandmother Loretta Alburger and they had five children, Alfred [my father], Catherine, Marie, Joseph and Thomas. He died in 1952. I think he missed my grandmother and died from a lonely heart at age 75.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Rest in Peace Grandpop. I want to thank everyone who comes to my grandfathers site and leaves a note or flower, God Bless you.
