A Blackwell woman was killed in a Kay County collision on Wednesday.

Janet Butzback, 43, was driving a Ford Escort north on T Street northwest of Ponca City when an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado that was eastbound on Tower Road failed to yield and broadsided her car shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Butzback, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver, 26-year-old Colt Bohon of Ponca City, was treated at a Ponca City hospital and released, troopers said.

Troopers attributed the collision to inattention due to a distraction inside the pickup.
