Mrs. Melva Geraldine (Switzer) Huff, 82 of Moss Point passed away January 24, 2010 in Pascagoula. She was born December 15, 1927 in Jackson County, MS.

Mrs. Huff was a member of Safe Harbor United Methodist Church. In her early years at Kreole United Methodist Church, Mrs. Huff taught Sunday School for the Ladies Bible Class for 40 years, was an active lifetime member of the United Methodist Women, a member of the choir and was the first woman Chairperson of the Administrative Board. She and her husband, Thomas, owned and operated Kiddieland Day Care Center in Kreole for many years where she was affectionately known as "Maw-Maw Huff".

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Switzer and Lucy (Seaman) Switzer husband, Thomas E Huff and son, Tommy Huff.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Deborah Huff, daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Bruce Dethloff; grandchildren; sister, Hilda (Earl) Gunter; brothers, Bernard (Bert) Switze, Dean Switzer, Bobby (Shirley) Switzer, Wayne (Janis) Switzer; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Safe Harbor United Methodist Church in Escatawpa. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. from the church with (nephew) Rev. Jeff Switzer, Rev. Hollis Howell and Rev. Tom Potter officiating. Interment will be in Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point. Pallbearers will be nephews, Pat, Steve, Greg, Joey, David and Jay.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation, Please include Mrs. Huff's name with your contribution. Donations may also be made to Safe Harbor United Methodist Church, Moss Point, MS
