Jim was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA Local #9108 in Rainelle, WV.
Surviors include his wife of 46 years, Novella (Adkins) Johnson, daughters, Shirley Nutter, Debbie Walton, Carolyn Simms and Kelly McClung, all of Quinwood; son, James P. Johnson Jr. of Quinwood; adopted children, Beckey Johnson, Nola Johnson, Terry Johnson, John Johnson and Brian Johnson; sister, Margaret Adkins of Machias, Maine; 10 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 06, 1997, at the Chapel of Rest Mausoleum Chapel in Victor, with Rev. Freddie Parkins officiating. Entombment will follow immediately thereafter.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle.
