Marie, a native of Rio Chiquito and a lifelong resident of Cundiyo, was predeceased by her parents Estevan and Clarita Trujillo; and sister Feliz Salazar.

Marie was survived by her husband of 45 years, Jake Vigil; children: Ron Vigil (wife Rose), Melissa Turano (husband Jeffrey), and Monique Turano (husband Paul); grandson Javier Vigil who was like a son to her, and seven additional grandchildren: Leanne, Megan, Dylan, Aubri, Amaryse, Ava and Jake; sister Lucy Trujillo (husband Juan); brothers: Nestor Trujillo (wife Nora), Julian Trujillo (wife Helen), Toby Trujillo (wife Elsie); brother-in-law Alfonso Salazar; sister-in-law Vera Sams (husband Ken) and numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.

Marie was a devoted catholic and the Celedora of Cundiyo for the Holy Family. She was an artist and master weaver. She participated in the Spanish Market and was a member of the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending many treasured moments with her family.

Public visitation and Rosary were on June 8, 2012 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on June 9, 2012 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial followed at the Cundiyo Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Julio Trujillo, Javier Vigil, Randy Vigil, Sammy Trujillo, Steve Trujillo, Vernon Trujillo, Allen Trujillo and John Salazar.
