He married Mary T. Dreiling on Dec. 29, 1951, in Broken Arrow, Okla.
He was an electronic engineer for Hughes Aircraft, El Segundo, Calif., prior to retirement in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, and resided in Hays since 1987.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Rick Kinison and wife, Janet, Waldorf, Md., and Paul Kinison and wife, Lisa, Lancaster, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Beck and husband, Mike, Milliken, Colo.; a sister, Janet Freeman, Wichita; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marjean Kinison; and a grandson, Jason Kinison.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18th and Vine, Hays; with military honors by Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9076; a private family inurnment will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Building Fund or Masses in care of the mortuary.
