Ray Harvill, age 78, formerly of Odessa, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012, at Odyssey Hospice in Corpus Christi.

He was born July 16, 1933, to Albert Sidney and Mary Audry (Norton) Harvill in the community of Springfield, TX. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from August 1953 to August 1955. He married Doris Jane Reeves in Penwell, TX, on June 15, 1958. He was self-employed as a pumper in the oil industry.

Ray loved his antique cars. He got much joy out of showing them off. Nothing made him happier than driving a bunch of kids around in the back of his Model T pickup. He was a "Ford" man through and through. He always told his family that he wanted to be buried in his "T" out on the "back-forty."

His parents, his wife, a sister, Doris Faye Johnston, and a grandson, Jonathan Brubaker, all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Terry Ray Harvill and wife, Benita of Odessa; daughter, Debbie Brubaker and husband, Jerry of Corpus Christi; two grandchildren, Jason and Daniel Brubaker; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Harvill and wife, Charlene of Odessa; sister, Audry Gibson of McKinney, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ray's children would like to thank all of the wonderful employees at Holmgreen Center for making their Dad feel so special during his 5 months there. They were so kind and caring.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012, at Belmont Baptist Church in Odessa, with Rev. John McLemore officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa, TX.
