He was born January 27, 1925 in Jamestown, New York. A son of the late Bruce Anderson and Faye Wright Anderson.
He was a retired employee of GTE (now Verizon), an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII serving on B-17s with the 8th Air Force out of England, a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America - Northern Panhandle Region, St. Clairsville American Legion Post #159, 8th Air Force Historical Society, CWA, and volunteered at OVMC in Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Rapp Anderson; daughter, Sharon Mamie; brothers, Bruce, Norman, William, Lawrence, Jack, and Harvey; sisters, Mary Lou Stryjwski, and Betty Griffin.
Surviving are his wife Sherry Coss Anderson; children, Lynn (Frank) Donda, Eric C. Anderson, and Janice (Kevin) Mudrak all of St. Clairsville; sister, Marguerite Murowsky of Willoughby, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; also by Sherry's children, Maleah Rhodes-Moon and Christopher McAninch; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating.
Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
The Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services in the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Saturday.
