Son of Capt. Job Shaw and Lucy Sherman of Victor, New York, who were formerly of Bridgewater, Vermont, and Plymouth, Massachusetts. Job Shaw Jr. was born in Bridgewater, later living with his parents in Bloomfield and Victor in Ontario County, New York. Job Jr.'s first wife was Hattie Gray (1804-1837) -- their sons were Lorello, Benoni, Job Jr., and James Franklin. After Hattie's death, Job married secondly to Georgianna "Joan" Hunt -- their children were William H. and Julia Eliza. Job Jr. and his family lived in Brant, Erie County, New York, where Job died in 1858. He is buried in Evans Center Cemetery, Angola, Evans Township, Erie County, New York, but his widow Georgianna, sons Lorello and William H., and other members of his family are buried in Forest Avenue Cemetery in Angola, while his son Benoni is buried in Erie Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania.
