Thomas J. Acord of Lassen Dead
Susanville, Calif., Aug 25. - Funeral services were conducted today in the Methodist church for Thomas J. Acord who died in a local hospital Aug 22. A native of Boonville, Tex., age 53 years, he had been a resident of Susanville for the past 27 years.
He is survived by his wife Frances of Susanville, daughters, Mrs. James Cooley of Palo Alto and Mrs. Medford Massotty of Susanville, grandson Jimmie Cooley of Palo Alto; sisters, Mrs. John Newsome of Weatherford, Tex., and Mrs. Gerald Clark of Sacramento; four brothers, Newton of Texas, Frank of Johnstonville, Lassen County; Clinton of Chico, and Wilson Acord of Willits.
Mr. Acord was a past commander and charter member of the local American Legion post No. 204. He was also a member of the Johnstonville Grange and the Pomona Grange.
Funeral Services were under the auspices of the American Legion and burial will be in the Lassen Cemetery.
