Mrs. Reason C. Welch died at her home two miles northeast of Larned last Saturday morning at 7 o'clock, after a short illness, death resulting from a complication of troubles brought on by an attack of grippe. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon, Rev. T. W. Rainey officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Larned cemetery.

Mrs. Welch was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lawton and was born in Washington county, Pa., March 24th, 1861. She was married to Mr. Welch Dec. 31st, 1885, and leaves her husband and two daughters, Nira aged twelve and Sara aged nine, to mourn her loss. She was prominent in Presbyterian church work, where she will by greatly missed. Her death affects the community almost as severely as it does her husband and children, for without exception she numbered all her acquaintances as sincere friends.
