Herbert F. Holland, Sr., 80, of Kingston NH died May 22, 2005, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 28, 1924, in Natick MA, the son of the late Ralph and Lily (Jodrey) Holland. Formerly of Tewksbury MA, he had resided in Kingston for 40 years. He was a graduate of Dorchester (MA) High School and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Holland was employed by Raytheon and Dupont for many years. He was previously employed with the Kingston Waste Management Department. He enjoyed fishing, caring for his 1934 Ford, and repairing antique radios.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marie T. (Kane) Holland of Kingston; sons Richard F. Holland of Deerfield NH, Herbert F. Holland, Jr., of Raymond NH, and Stephen E. Holland of Epping NH; daughters Marie T. Bachand of Laconia NH and Jane V. Eldridge of Wentworth NH; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Timothy Holland.

Calling hours will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church. The Rev. Wendell Irvine will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
