Joyce Anderson Maroon, age 78, of Murfreesboro, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

She was born on November 18, 1933 at Dierks, the daughter of Delbert Lane and Audie Mae Lockwood Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jesse Aaron Anderson; her second husband, Reeves Maroon; her grandson, Bradley Allmond; her brother, Billy Joe Lane; her half-brother, Odell Lane; and two sisters, Wanda Crow and Myrece Greer.

She was a licensed practical nurse and retired from the Pike County Memorial Hospital. Joyce was also a licensed beautician. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Murfreesboro and the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved fishing, gardening, quilting, family reunions and being with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her son, William "Bud" Anderson of Nashville, Tennessee; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Clifford Nixon of Stigler, Oklahoma, Vickie and Donnie Reid of Kirby and Peggy and John McGee of Nashville, Arkansas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Katherine Lane of Murfreesboro and Merrel and Judy Lane of Decatur, Arkansas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Leroy Bailey of Kirby and Barbara and Dearl Stuart of Dierks; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 3, 2012 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Harloe White and Billy Golden officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Kirby Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Funderburk, Gary Bailey, John Lane, Tony Crow, Kyle Golden, Darren Lane and Tommy Anderson.
