At his home in Steamboat Rock, Ia., Granville Arnold died on Tuesday, December 3 1903. He was born in Martinsville, Ind. November 10, 1827, and was married to Abigail Brewer May 18, 1851. To this union three daughters were borne, Eliza Eleanor, Martha and Clara. The latter two are still living, Eliza E. having died June 15, 1854. The deceased moved to Iowa in the fall of 1854 and located in Hardin county where he resided until the day of his death. He was always an indulgent husband and parent, a citizen respected by all who knew him. He could not pass a child without a smile or a kind word of greeting.

Deceased was stricken with a mental trouble and after three weeks of suffering, quietly passed away. He leaves his wife to mourn together with his two daughters, Martha Kelso and Clara Kryger, and a sister Martha Pleasant who were all at his bedside when he died. Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday at 2 o'clock, and were conducted by Equality Lodge A F and A M of which he was a member. Internment occured in the Steamboat Cemetery.
