He was born into a shipbuilding family, came to America through Philadelphia, in Apr. 1888 and married Helen Kammerer in Oct. 1888. They had three children, Alvina, my great-grandmother Casilda and Eugene, who died as an infant in 1900. After his first wife's death in Jan. 1902, he married Helen Louise (or Louise Helen) in Feb. 1908 and had daughter Helen in 1909. They lived in Buffalo until 1940. He and his wife were members of Most Precious Blood Church in the southern suburb of Derby/Angola, on the shore of Lake Erie.
