Evelyn Baston, 91, of Sanford, died November 23, 2001 at The Goodall Hospital, Sanford, Maine.

She was born in Sanford, Maine on September 11, 1910 the daughter of F. Horatio and Undine Wilson Hall and was a 1926 graduate of Sanford High School.

Mrs. Baston worked as a secretary for The Goodall Sanford Mills, Gendron Lumber, Pioneer Plastics and for Sprague Electric where she worked for 10 years until she retired.

She was a member and secretary of 50+ and AARP's local chapter. She was also a member of The Bonney Beg Grange, YC Pomona, The Eastern Star and the searchlight club. Mrs. Baston volunteered at The Greenwood Center.

She enjoyed traveling and especially loved children. She was affectionately known to everyone as "Gram".

She was predeceased by her husband Gerald B. Baston who died in 1980.

She is survived by her sons, Richard L. Baston of Alexandria, NH., Thomas R. Baston of Sanford; a daughter Cynthia Lawrence of Sanford; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine, where a funeral will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM
