Margaret F. (McLaughlin) Dunn, age 88, of Merrimac, passed away peacefully at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Dyer Brook, Maine, July 16, 1923, daughter of the late Carl E. and May V. (Gerrish) McLaughlin White and was a graduate of Merrill High School.

A resident of Merrimac since 1953, Mrs. Dunn was a member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church where she had been a Deaconess for many years. She was also a member of Couplings Club of the Merrimac Fire Dept. After her retirement, she volunteered for Elder Enrichment Program as a senior companion and as a NEET [Northern Essex Elder Transport] driver for the Senior Center.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, John E. Dunn, who died September 23, 1986 , her sister Lillian A. Higgins, and her brother Aubrey McLaughlin, she leaves behind her three sons and two daughters, Brian J. Dunn and Ret. GYSGT USMC, Alan J. Dunn and significant other, Donna Malgeri all of Merrimac; Ret. Petty Officer US Navy, Eric N. Dunn and wife Trish of Norfolk, VA; Marlene R. Allard and husband John of Barrington, NH; and Joyce L. Dixon and husband Richard of Wind Ridge, PA; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beryl E. Stevens of Danvers; and Nadine E. Bradley of Haverhill, along with several generations of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for family and friends will he held Sunday, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 27 Church Street, Merrimac. By request of the family, there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Merrimac Senior Center, 100 East Main St., Merrimac, MA 01860, or to Pilgrim Congregational Church, 27 Church Street, Merrimac, MA 01860 or to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01860. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac.
