Age 45 yrs 3 mos 11 days
(Recorded in Bk. 7, p. 19, Ziegel's church records)Born 17 Feb 1802 - died 31 May 1847.
Burial records; Ziegels Union Lutheran & Reformed Church; Hollenbach; pub. 1964; row 15; p.19.

Some descendants changed the family name spelling to Bear. His youngest son Eli Bear, aka Elias, was born only about 1 year before Benjamin died. Eli was raised by his older brother Jonas. Eli and his wife are buried in the same grave plot at Ziegel's Church Cemetery as his brother Jonas and his wife and they share the same gravestone marker. This causes genealogy research confusion since some people think Eli was the son of Jonas, which he was not. They were brothers and both sons of this Benjamin Baehr and his wife Catharine.

More biographical information on the Baer family can be found in: History of Lehigh County PA; Roberts; pub. 1914; Vol.II p.40; Baer Family article.

The Baer family name is also found spelled Bear, Bahr, Baehr, Behr, Bair, Barr, and/or Bare in census and other records.
