A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 1997, in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for Lucille E. Alford, who died March 15 at age 87.
Mrs. Alford was born July 22, 1909, in Fort Atkinson, Wis. Her maiden name was Quam. Raised in the Portland area, she graduated from Franklin High School. Her first husband, Harvey Donnell, died in 1948. She married Eugene in 1961, who no longer is living. She was a member of Moreland Presbyterian Church. She taught piano.
Surviving are her son, Gary Donnell of Staton, Calif.; daughter, Patricia Brown of New Westminster, British Columbia; brother, Clyde Quam of Eugene; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances to Oregon Health Sciences University Alzheimer's disease research or Willamette View Foundation in Milwaukie. Arrangements are by Portland Memorial Funeral Home.
