SKURCENSKI SERVICES SCHEDULED THURSDAY
Double funeral services for Dr. and Mrs. Anton Skurcenski (the former Jessie Clark, 43) of Inglewood, Calif., who were killed in a plane crash at Chicago, Sept. 1, 1961, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, in the Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, the Rev. Earl Kerstetter of the Bedford Methodist Church and the Rev. Jay M. Derk of the Methodist Church, Wolfsburg, officiating. Interment will be in Schellsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jessie (Clark) Skurcenski was born at Bedford, Rt. 2, Nov. 11, 1917, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. William Clark. She graduated from Bedford High School in the class of 1936 and from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Johnstown, in 1940. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for four years.
She is survived by her parents and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Vital, wife of Andrew Vital, Johnstown; John A. Clark, St. Johns, Michigan; Robert A. Clark, Everett; Joseph B. Clark, Bedford; Frank B. Clark, Ellerslie, Md.; Edward E. Clark, Bedford; Mrs. Mary Emma Ronco, wife of Louis G. Ronco, Miami, Fla., and Maynard Clark, Ruskin, Fla. A sister, Mrs. Jean Heaton, preceded her in death.
Dr. Skurcenski, 43, was born in Pittsburgh, the son of Mrs. Marcella Skurcenski of Braddock and the late Walter Skurcenski.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, he taught chemistry at Pitt for 10 years and received his doctor's degree there in 1949. He also taught at Geneva College, Beaver Falls. For the past number of years he has served as chief chemist at the Thompson Plastic Co., Los Angeles.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Stanley, North Braddock; Louis, Zelienople, and a sister, Florence, Pittsburgh.
