Refired Farmer, Dies

James Ellis Brown, 87-year-old retired Christian County farmer and father of Mrs. Harold H. McKinney, director of the Christian County Welfare Office, died of a heart attack at 11:30 last night at Jennie Stuart Hospital.

Mr. Brown was stricken yesterday morning at his home on North Main Street and taken to the hospital.

Funeral services will he conducted at 10 :Lin Monday at Fuqua Funeral Home Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Stanley Stall, First Universalist Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

A native of the Consolation community, Mr. Brown formerly owned and operated a farm near Crofton. He retired 20 years ago and moved to Hopkinsville. Mr. Brown was a life-long member of the Universalist Church.

Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Bessie Donnley Brown; a daughter, Mrs. McKinney, Nashville Road, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers, all nephews will be Bud, W. R., Barrett, and M. L. Brown, Julian Rateliff, and Otho Crowe.
