Ralph L. Cannell
April 8, 1943 -
March 12, 2012
Ralph Cannell passed away peacefully on March 12, after a sudden illness. His loving family was with him. He was born in Modesto on April 8, 1943 and had lived here all his life. Ralph was a member of the Laborers' Union Local #1130 for almost 44 years and had served as a Field Rep and then as Business Manager for many years. He was very proud to be called a "Union" man. Ralph served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1960 - 1963, serving most of his time in Germany. Ralph and his wife, Rose, had many wonderful vacations with their children and grandchildren. After retirement they alone had traveled to all the states except eleven and to many foreign countries.
Surviving Ralph are his wife and navigator for 43 years, Roszella "Rose" Cannell; their daughters, Michelle (Tony) Valdez and Christina Cannell; three grandchildren, Nicole Thompson, Michael Thompson, and Gage Valdez; and the most recent addition to the family, great-granddaughter, Lena Thompson. Also surviving him are his two brothers, Ron and Gary Cannell, both of Modesto. There was nothing more important to him than his family. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lavon and Carroll Cannell and our sister-in-law, Mary Lou Cannell.
We love him and will miss him everyday.
No public services per his wishes.
