Our loving father and husband George Melbourne Webb passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday April 5th. George was born December 20, 1923 in Daniels, UT to Thomas (Neb) and Dora Webb.
George grew up in the Heber valley and attended Wasatch High School. He married his high school sweetheart Della May Broadhead on Aug. 12, 1943; a couple years after Della's passing, he married Clarice G McDonald on May 14, 1997. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII aboard the Maryland.
After his service in the Navy, George worked in the Park City mines. Shortly after, he bought his first truck in 1946 and started hauling livestock which he continued to do throughout his career. He is accredited and holds the patent for the first three deck livestock trailer.
George enjoyed winters with Della in California with Harold and Nadine Broadhead also with Blaine and Juanita Webb and later on with Clarice. He also loved going into the mountains for firewood and spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. He was a lifetime member of the LDS church and served in the bishopric.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Della of 52 years, and a daughter-in-law, Linda.
Survived by his second wife, Clarice, sons: Kenneth, Scott (Barbara), Jack (Joyce), and Bryan (Nicole); a daughter, Marsha (Vern) Carlson; brothers: Jerry and Blaine; sisters: Ilene McGuire, Nadine Broadhead, and Nyla Webb. Also by 18 grand, 27 great-grand, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thurs. April 12, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Heber Stake Center, 150 W. 200 N. Heber City, UT. Viewings will be held Wed. from 6-8 PM and Thurs. from 10:30-11:30 both at the LDS church. Interment in the Charleston Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.olpinhoopes.com.
