Rosa F. Disheroon, 87, of Huntland, Tennessee passed away on August 11, 2011 at Willows of Winchester following an extended illness.

Ms. Disheroon was a member of the Huntland Church of God.

She was born on March 18, 1924 in Scottsboro, Alabama to the late William Harvey Swearengin, Jr. and Myrtle Lee Whitlock Swearengin.

She was one of 14 children. Her only surviving sibling is her sister Victoria Ilene Ott of Dallas, Georgia.

On August 25, 1940 she married T.L. Disheroon of the Trenton, AL community.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Billy Wayne Disheroon.

Survivors include sons Jimmy (Nettie) Disheroon and Glenn (Andrea) Disheroon of Huntland, granddaughters Lisa (Terry) Smith of Huntland, Angie (Bryan) Sedwick of Celebration, Florida, Stacy Disheroon of Winchester, Misty (Jamie) Maxwell of Belvidere, Cassie Disheroon of Fayetteville and Paige Disheroon of Huntland. Great grandchildren: Travis Smith and Traci Smith of Huntland, Bryce Sedwick of Celebration, FL, Preston Maxwell of Belvidere, and Vanessa Disheroon of Winchester, a special sister-in-law Jo Swearengin of Scottsboro, AL, and numerous loving family members and friends in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.

As a young mother in the 1940's she worked alongside her husband in farming, cutting timber, raising livestock, and gardening.

After moving to Huntland in 1954 she went to work for Schultz Poultry Farm, Amana, Lee Company, Winchester Hat Corporation, and E&B Carpet Mills (Shaw).

Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting, and reading, but her favorite hobby was square dancing. Ms. Disheroon was especially fond of reminiscing on her square dancing years and trips she took with friends.

She made many of the colorful dresses she wore.

The family would like to offer their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Willows of Winchester for their special care of Ms. Disheroon during her time with them.

The funeral service conducted on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
