Dadmun, Jacquelyn C. of Evergreen, CO passed away in her home June 29, 2011, at the age of 59. Born in Milwaukee to John and Felicie Dadmun. Jacquie joins her father John and is survived by her Mother, Felicie; brothers, Jay and Steve (Amy); sister, Joan (Bill) Kortsch; son, Mark (Melissa); daughter, Jennifer (Aaron) Kogan; and grandchildren, Soren and Maysa.
Jacquie grew up in Milwaukee and raised her children there, close to family. However, her college years were spent in Colorado where she fell in love with the mountains. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Loretto Heights College in 1974 and worked her whole life as a nurse. She started her career in Milwaukee at Children's Hospital and was an ER nurse at Columbia Hospital for 23 years, eventually becoming ER nurse manager. Once her children had grown and left for adventures of their own, Jacquie fulfilled her dream of moving back to Colorado and the mountains. She spent the last 16 years living in the charming mountain town of Evergreen. She continued her nursing career working in Denver at Children's Hospital After Hours triage for 11 years, and finally for the Rocky Mountain Poison Control Center.
Jacquie lived a life of care and service, not only as a nurse, but also through extensive volunteering in a variety of areas. Early on, she was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, as well as numerous projects at the kids' schools. Later she was enthusiastically involved at the Hiwan Homestead Museum in Jefferson County and the Denver Firefighters Museum. Her passion and commitment to enriching the history of the area led to her receiving the Jefferson County Volunteer of the Year award. Jacquie also has many dear friends, gathered throughout her adventures, who can attest to her good nature and depth of character. She will be greatly missed by many.
A memorial mass in her honor will be held at Horan & McConaty funeral home on Friday, August 19th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., located at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227. For those wishing, we will visit her final resting place at Mount Lindo immediately following the service.
