He resided in Wilmington, Delaware and was a student at the University of Delaware prior to the war.

The Bomber ( seaplane ) that he was on made a crash landing believed to be due to battle damage.

Stanley was " Killed In Action " in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
