Helen Christine (Paulson) Guida was born to Paul and Molly (Olsen) Paulson on August 28, 1915 on the family farm three miles north of Tyler, Minnesota. She attended country school one mile west of the farm and completed her education at the Tyler Public School. Helen married Don Guida at her parent's home in Tyler on October 26, 1938. The newlyweds moved onto the Paulson farm. Their marriage was blessed with six children and 50 years of life together. Their family worked together on their dairy farm, with the priorities in the home being a good work ethic and their Christian faith.

Don and Helen retired and moved into Tyler in 1974. Don died and Helen later moved to Danebod Village in 2000. She enjoyed her home and looked forward to special family get-togethers. She was a gracious hostess, and her home provided a wonderful place for family and friends to gather. She always decorated for the seasons, and especially enjoyed holiday celebrations by sharing her cooking and the traditions she loved. Helen died on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Tyler Healthcare Center at the age of 96 years, 7 months, and 30 days.

Helen was a lifetime member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Tyler. Her faith in Christ was her daily strength. She loved playing the piano, taught Sunday School, and was an active member of the Alliance women's group. She enjoyed doing cross-stitch and embroidery, and she crocheted an afghan for each of her seventeen grandchildren for their graduations. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her children, Mavis (and Ron) Shriver of Woodbury, Minnesota, Dan (and Sandy) Guida of Red Wing, Minnesota, David (and Kathy) Guida of Tyler, Minnesota, and Darla (and Curt) Madsen of Tyler, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law Al (and Linda) Carlson of Minnesota City, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; two daughters, Betty and Karen; and great-granddaughter, Payton.

Blessed be her memory.
