Gertrude Irene "Toots" (Blum) Albertson was born November 11, 1916, in Lamberton, Minnesota, to Joseph and Sophie Boog Blum.

She married Archie Russell Albertson in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, on Apiil 13, 1936. Since 1948, they made their home in rural Hazel Run, Minnesota, where they raised one daughter, Margie, and eight sons, James, Spencer, Ronald, Bruce, Roger, Donald, Rodney and Gordon.

Toots served as President of tne Clarkfield Care Center Auxiliary and also with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Clarkfield Care Center, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was an active member of the Hazel Run Lutheran Church where she served as President of the WELCA, Circle Chairman, WELCA Convention Delegate, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher. Her volunteering also involved service as a regional coordinator for the Bloodmobile Association, LSS Sr. Links Program, and as a member of the Ostomy Support Group Association.

Toots passed away on December 24, 1989, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital, Montevideo, Minnesota, at the age of 73.

She is survived by her husband, Archie; her children, Margie (Mrs. Ronald Anderson) of Moorhead, Minnesota, James of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Spencer of San Antonio, Texas, Ronald of Montevideo, Minnesota, Roger of Lynd, Minnesota, Bruce, Donald, Rodney and Gordon all of Clarkfield; 21 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Sanders of Edmonds, Washington; and a brother John Blum of Lamberton, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Frank; and two sisters, Elsie Royer and Mary Raschka.
