CROSSED IN SAILBOAT
Mrs. Augusta Tilly 95, of 1113 South Lombard, a resident of the village for thirty-six years, died at her home on Sunday. She and her family have been members of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years.
Born in Germany in 1849 Mrs. Tilly came to America when a young woman, making the voyage in a sailboat. Her husband Ferdinand Tilly, passed away in 1909.
Mrs. Tilly is survived by a son Emil Tilly of Elmhurst, a daughter, Mrs. Meta Jost of the Lombard address. There are twelve grandchildren, Bernice, Lt. Leonard G. Jost in France, S/Sgt. George Jost stationed in Italy, Mildred Burmester, Leona Grabow, Louise Schmitt, Charles, Lt. Ottmar Tilly of the Army, Harold and Waldorf Tilly, Irma Sattler, and Eleanor Barry. She also leaves seventeen great grandchildren.
Services on Wednesday afternoon were conducted at the Emmerling Chapel and interment took place at Mount Emblem.
