She was born April 6, 1918, in Buffalo, daughter of the late Frank and Jenny (Catlett) Williams.
Mrs. Spurrier graduated from Valley Local High School in Buffalo.
She worked at the Timken Co. in Canton during the war, and retired as clerk at the Buffalo Post Office in 1992 after 35 years of service.
She was a member of Buffalo United Methodist Church, where she served as secretary. She was a supporter of Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation in memory of Ryan, son of Ronald McClelland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben E. Spurrier, whom she married Dec. 25, 1940, and who died Dec. 5, 2000; a sister, Alpha Davis, and a brother, Clifford Williams.
She leaves a daughter, Connie Spurrier, and James and Kathy Cain, who were like a son and daughter, of Buffalo; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from noon until services at 1 p.m. Monday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with the Rev. Virginia Geiger officiating.
Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant City United Methodist Church.
