"Andrew C. Craig, senior member of the firm A. C. Craig & Co., wholesale liquor dealers, of 138 South Front street, died of apoplexy on Saturday, at his residence, No. 1527 Walnut street, in the seventy-second year of his age. He was a native of Ireland, and came to this country in 1830. His first permanent engagement was with Hugh Calderwood, with whom he was ultimately taken into partnership, rising to be head of the firm. He was an active member of the Hibernian Society, succeeding the late General Patterson as its' president, and a director of the Mechanics' Insurance Company. His estate is estimated at a million."
