W.F. Abbott Oil Company EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest Thursday, January 11, 2007, Mr. W. F. (Bud) Abbott, Jr., 86, husband of 65 years to Mary Lou E. Abbott. W.F., a native of Warren County, GA moved to Augusta in 1947 to work for J.C. Coleman Oil, a Standard Oil Distributor. In 1962, he started his own business, W.F. Abbott Oil Company, an Exxon Distributorship. He ran the company until he retired in 1981. After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and fishing. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church and a former member of the American Business Clubs and West Lake Country Club. Family members, in addition to his wife, include his son: W. Franklin Abbott III (Mary Ann) of Augusta; grandchildren: Walter F. Abbott IV (Amy), Susan Abbott Poston (Tony) and four great-grandchildren: Mack Poston, Mattie Poston, Jay Fickle, Sarah Fickle. Graveside services will be held today, Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Ron Etheridge officiating. Memorials may be made The Colonnade and Pavilion Endowment Fund at Brandon Wilde, 4275 Owens Rd., Evans, GA 30809 or Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.
