LA FARGE - Freda Mae Campbell, age 96, of Viroqua and formerly from the La Farge and Viola area, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 1999 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. Freda was born in
Ontario, Wisconsin on July 12, 1903 the oldest child of Charles and Mabel (Moore) Coleman. She was married to Charles Nathan Campbell on May 20, 1920 and to this union came six children; Charles, Vivian, Robert, Keith, Betty, and Joyce. Together Charles and Freda lived and farmed around La Farge and Viola. Charles preceded her in death on March 15, 1965. Survivors include a son, Robert (Kathleen) Campbell of Belleville; a daughter, Betty (Wayne) Peck of Viola; a daughter-in-law, Peg Campbell of
Belleville; a son-in-law, Erland Hauge of Elkedor, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leo Campbell of La Farge; two sisters-in-law, Garnet Coleman of La Farge, and Myra Coleman of Prairie du Chien; and a host of nieces and nephews. Freda
was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Charles and Keith; two daughters, Vivian Oliver and Joyce Hauge; a granddaughter, Wendy Lueth; five grandsons; four brothers, Ray, Gervese, James, and Kenneth; four sisters, Bertha Bruske, Myrtle Smith, Florence Steinmetz, and Annabelle Hollenbeck. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the LA FARGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Reverend Julio Alvarado officiating. Burial will be in the Dell Cemetery. Friends may call at the LA FARGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 1999. The SELAND-HUSTON FUNERAL HOME in La Farge is assisting the family with arrangements.
