MCLAUGHLIN.--Mrs. Julia C. McLaughlin, daughter of the Rev. Lucius and Clarissa Whitney, was born in Albion, New York, October 6, 1843, and died May 30, 1892. Converted in childhood, inheriting Christian tendency, supplemented by early training, she lived a devoted, active follower of Christ all her life. Ever true to her convictions of right, a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for many years, she developed a strong, righteous character. Her father delighted to have Julia accompany him in his appointments, where she sang, played and otherwise assisted him in the services. She was married to Perry McLaughlin of North Huron, New York, December 25, 1866. They lived there ten years, when they removed to Sterling, New York, and there she passed the remainder of her useful life. The family left consists of the husband and five boys. Could any hearts have stronger cords drawing them heavenward than they? Sister McLaughlin's only surviving sister is the wife of the Rev. S. T. Dibble, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Gouverneur, New York.
