Bobbie Jean Alcorn, age 80, a resident of Powell and formerly of Oliver Springs, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, March 5, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

Jean was born October 27, 1931, in Jacksboro, TN. She moved to Oliver Springs during her early childhood.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Before her retirement she was employed as a machine operator in the textile business.

Mrs. Alcorn was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Alcorn, by parents; W.G. and Ada Collins, and by brothers, Goebel Collins, Jr. and James Collins.

She is survived by daughters; Sherell Alcorn Poole of Harriman, Cathy Barry and husband, Terry of Powell, by sons; Chuck Alcorn and wife, Marsha of Oliver Springs, Larry Alcorn and wife, Judy of Oliver Springs, Eddy Alcorn and wife, Gretchen of Knoxville, Gary Alcorn and wife, Mary of Knoxville, Bryon Alcorn and wife, Gretchen of Rockford, Burl Alcorn and wife, Darlene of Oliver Springs, and Mike Alcorn of Powell, and by fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters; Florence Collins Alcorn of Oliver Springs, and Ruth Collins Nichols and husband, Joe of Georgia, by a brother, Johnny Collins and wife, Brenda of Chattanooga, and a host of extended family members and special friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 2012, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Morgan officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Sunday, March 11, 2012, at 2:00 pm, at the Oliver Springs Cemetery. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
