Aleatha D. Connelly, 68, of Martinsville, died at 12:26 p.m. May 14, 1997 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.

She was born April 26, 1929, in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Martha (Maddox) McElwain. She was married October 28, 1949, to Waldo Connelly. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Jonathan Connelly of Robinson; one daughter, Sandra Hammer of Berea, Ohio; four brothers, Gale of Albequerque, N. M., Harry of Danville, Ind., Terry of Oakwood, Ill., and Gordon of Chester, N. J.; two sisters, Linda Spencer of Hilo, Hawaii and Peggy Shute of French Lick, Ind.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday (May 18) at the Markwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Herb Baker officiating. Burial followed in Ridgelawn Cemetery, located in Martinsville. Visitation was held from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
