James L. Beasley, age 88, died Sunday, March 4, 2012 in Benbrook, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Southside Baptist Church of Olney, with Andy Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
James was born on February 2, 1924 in Throckmorton, Texas to the late Wiley L. and Jewel Cleveland (Sharp) Beasley. He and Lena Mae York were married September 14, 1943 in Throckmorton, Texas. They lived in Olney for over sixty years. James worked in the oilfield. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #790 of Olney. He is preceded in death by one grandson, Byron Beasley; one sister, Opal Blair; and two brothers, Cecil Beasley, and Jessie Harrell (Bill) Beasley.
James is survived by his wife Lena Mae Beasley of Benbrook, Texas; one son, Jimmy Don Beasley of Hillsboro, Texas; one daughter, Jackie Lynn Young of Benbrook, Texas; three sisters, Bessie Montgomery of Ft. Worth, Texas, Christel Presley of Lake Worth, Texas, and Barbara Sue Johnson of Azel, Texas; and by four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
