Betty Ruth Lancaster, 79, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at a local care center, with her family by her side.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Azle, 1017 Boyd Road (730 North). Interment: Veal Station Cemetery

Betty was born on October 4, 1932, the oldest of three children, to Arthur Edward and Ruth Ethel Garland Stevenson in Waco. She was a long time resident of Azle. After suffering a stroke at the young age of 52, she took up and loved painting in spite of being partially paralized. Betty loved all kinds of flowers. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Azle for many years and loved the people there. Betty owned and operated the Little Dude Ranch Day Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lancaster; her parents; and sister-in-law, Maureen Stevenson.

Survivors: Son, Steve Lancaster and wife, Melody, of Azle; grandchildren, Steven and Krysta Lancaster, of Azle, Michael Lancaster of Azle, Brandon Lancaster of Fort Worth, Shawna Lancaster of Azle and Colton Lancaster of Fort Worth; great-grandson, Zane Lancaster; brothers, E. E. Stevenson and wife, Jane, of Azle, and Howard Stevenson of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Karen Lancaster of Fort Worth; former husband, Don Lancaster of Azle; many loving family members and friends.
