Mrs. Way was born June 30, 1945, in Colleton County, a daughter of Sarah Turner Crosby and the late Launie A. Crosby.
Launette was the retired owner and operator of Launette's Flowers.
She was a member of Bedon Baptist Church, a member of the S.C. Florist Association, where she served on the Board of Directors from 1996 thru 2000, and was named Florist of the Year in 1999. She was co-owner and operator of the Round O Fox Run. She was an avid fox hunter and member and avid supporter of the South Carolina Coalition of Dog Hunter's Rights. She was a lover of the outdoors.
Surviving in addition to her mother of Walterboro, are her husband, Howard O. Way, Jr.; daughter, Elaine Knight and husband Steve of Knightsville; sons, Neal Way of Walterboro and Launie Michael Way and wife Ruth Ann of Walterboro; two sisters, Jackie Williams of Brunson and Theresa Jones of Walterboro; six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
"Mrs. Launette" was a dear friend to so many and such a lovely lady. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.
